New footage has emerged of missing British teenager Jay Slater at a rave hours before he disappeared in Tenerife.

The 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, remains missing on the Island after his friend Lucy Mae, who had travelled to Tenerife with him to attend the NRG music festival, said he stayed with people he had met on holiday after a night out.

A newly emerged clip posted on social media claims to show the rave Jay attended before he went missing. The shaky footage, posted on TikTok, shows a busy rave crowded with people. Ravers can be seen milling about the poorly-lit room, with a red circle pinpointing an attendee believed to be Jay.

Expert's chilling 'accident' warning for Tenerife park where Brit vanished

A Tenerife expert warned it was "inevitable" an accident would happen at a national park – four years before Jay Slater went missing there.

Jay was walking in the Masca area of Tenerife’s Teno Rural Park, which is known to have numerous treacherous ravines and some of the most dangerous trails on the island. Experts have warned the area can be risky even for experienced mountain hikers.

One local expert, warning of the dangers of setting off through the park without adequate preparation and planning, chillingly predicted an accident would happen four years before Jay went missing.

Vicente Infante, trails spokesman of the Tenerife Mountain Federation, warned the trails can be deceptively dangerous, and all too many people attempt them without adequate equipment. He explained: "Hikers in the past were prepared, used suitable footwear, helmets... in short, they carried all the equipment.”

Good Morning Britain reporter points out frustrations with police search

A Good Morning Britain presenter has pointed out why the family and friends of Jay Slater have grown frustrated with the search.

Good Morning Britain's Jonathan Swain, who is reporting live from Tenerife, said: "They were desperately hoping he would be found by now. They are upset, anxious and terrified by what might of happened to him. They have frustrations with the Spanish police

"I saw for myself yesterday how they just appear to be focused on one area - a remote valley in the north of the island - that's where they think Jay's mobile phone was last used. And if Jay was trying to walk back to his holiday hotel in the south of the island, one eyewitness said he was walking the wrong way on Monday morning after that night out."

Jay Slater's mum explains why she fears missing Brit in Tenerife was abducted

Jay Slater's mum fears her missing son was "bundled off somewhere" when he disappeared in Tenerife.

Jay, 19, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, has not been heard from for nearly a week. The teen last communicated with a friend on Monday, when he told them he planned to brave an 11-hour walk home to his accommodation. His friends and family now fear for his life, with fears building that he may have been abducted from the Spanish island.

Jay's mum, Debbie Duncan, has not heard from her son since he left a rave party on the island. She said: “If he is lost then why hasn't anyone seen him? It's busy with hikers and holidaymakers up there so if he was lost then someone would have seen him, so that's why I think maybe he's been bundled off somewhere."

Search area 'difficult for Spanish search teams to navigate'

The area in which Jay Slater is believed to have gone missing is part of a “remote and wild national park,” explained BBC’s Nick Garnett as he visited the area to report on the search.

Faced with cold nights and high winds, the mountainous area could prove to be tricky for emergency personnel searching the area for the missing Lancashire teenager.

"Deep ravines and huge daunting mountains make the national park a difficult place for the Spanish search teams to navigate, but one mountain rescue worker told me this is not the first time they’ve been called out to the area," he said.

"At night, the countryside becomes a maze, pitch black and disorientating."

Search and rescue teams have been concentrating on one particular valley near the top of a mountain pass, according to reports, with a helicopter also surveying the area.

Weather forecast for continued search efforts

As the search for Jay Slater moves into yet another day, weather conditions in and around Masca, the area being searched, continue to be stable for supporting rescue efforts.

On Friday, the forecast is said to be sunny intervals with a moderate breeze, with a high temperature of around 20°C. There is also currently a 27% of rain in the early part of the morning.

While the weather forecast may be hospitable however, the terrain of Jay’s last known whereabouts on Monday, is less so, with locals in the area having warned that it was “difficult” and potentially dangerous due to “thin air”, and being “steep and loose underfoot.”

With this in mind volunteers hoping to join the search for Jay have been urged to contact the local group coordinator in Masca first, rather than trying to search on their own.

You can reach them by calling 062 in Tenerife, and stating you want to join the search for Jay.

“What is wrong with people anything you have which is of value then please add into the group or call the Spanish police she doesn’t need this it’s been asked it stops !!!

“There still isn’t any update for Jay !! We are all doing what we can and we won’t stop till he’s found.”

Last person to speak to Jay calls for British police to help with search

The last person to speak to Jay Slater before he vanished on Monday has called upon British police to join the search amid the ongoing investigation into his disappearance while enjoying his first solo holiday in Tenerife.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lucy Law said: “We need British police here. I just want to find my mate. He’s been missing three days. It’s not looking good now. We feel as though it’s down to us to find him and that we’re doing more than the police.

“The police here don’t speak English and don’t even have a translator after three days. I feel like they’re fobbing me off. They’re still asking me the same questions as when I first reported Jay missing.”

She added: “The two boys that he was last with have left the country. They need to be questioned by British police.”

More than 72 hours of searching

As the search for missing teenager Jay Slater enters its fourth day, teams will once again continue to scour the area in and around Masca and the Teno Rural Park in the hopes of finding him.

So far a number of resources have been deployed in the search including several units of the Guardia Civil, helicopters, sniffer dogs and mountain rescue personnel, as well as using drones to search areas that cannot be easily accessed on foot.

In addition, it is also understood that the fire brigade have scaled ravines to try and see if Jay had collapsed or fallen on any of the rocky trails in the area.

Tenerife local sheds new light on two men seen with Jay

A Tenerife local has lifted the lid on the two British men Jay Slater was with before he disappeared.

A woman named only as Araceli, who works in the business adjoining the rented holiday home where Jay is believed to have partied with the pair, said: “I never saw the missing boy, but I know people saw him walking on his own. I saw the two British men who stayed here.

“They came in for cafe con leche a couple of times. One was aged about 40. The other one was slightly younger.” She told The Mirror: “The police have spoken to them both.

“They arrived on Saturday and we’re due to stay until Monday, but they left on Tuesday.” Asked if they had to stay to be interviewed by police, she said: “I don’t know”.

Official GoFundMe page surpasses £22,000

An official GoFundMe page set up for missing teenager Jay Slater has raised over £22,000 less than a day after it was launched. The fundraiser was set up by his friend Lucy Mae, who has been helping searching efforts in the Spanish island of Tenerife.

Writing on the page, she said: "Hi everyone my name is Lucy. I have come on holiday to Tenerife to attend the NRG festival with my friend Jay and another friend.

"On the last day of the festival, I left alone, earlier than everyone else, because I was tired from the weekend. I woke up to a phone call off Jay at 8.30 AM saying 'he was lost in the mountains, he wasn’t aware of his surroundings, he desperately needed a drink and his phone was on 1%'.

"He had met two people on Sunday night and left with them to go to their apartment. Their apartment was miles away from civilisation and in a very secluded location.

"He left at 8am, and walked half an hour before frantically ringing me when his phone reached 1%. This was three days ago now, and no one has seen or heard from him since.

"His last location was on an off-road track, which was a 10 hour walk from his hotel. The weather conditions up there are terrible for someone in shorts and a t-shirt, both in the day and at night.

"He has no water for when it’s warm through out the day, and he has no coat/suitable clothing for when it’s cold at night. It was 1 degree and extremely windy when I was out looking in the middle of the night.

"We are all so worried and we just want him home. Please help if you can and share far and wide."

“Seen a couple of my cars up here but certainly could be more people on the pathways walking, if you do come up BE CAREFUL, its 17 degrees (10 degrees different to the South) and is raining, thin air, steep and loose under foot.”

She told ITV News: “It’s just a nightmare, it’s an absolute living nightmare. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. I just want my baby back.

'Lost village' where Jay vanished is remote and treacherous

The remote region where missing teen Jay Slater was last heard from is notoriously remote and treacherous, locals have said.

The tiny hamlet of Masca clings to the rocky outcrops of North Western Tenerife in the rugged Parque Rural de Teno, with locals calling it the “lost village” as it didn’t even have a road connection until the 1990s. It is one of the most remote parts of Tenerife, and in the past few years more rescues have been carried out here than anywhere else in the Canary Islands, according to the website of the Masca visitors centre.

The treacherous terrain is made up of steep, rocky mountain trails and sheer gorges with numerous paths that can lead unwary walkers astray, one local has said.

A worker at the visitor centre in Masca, which issues passes to hikers undertaking the gruelling walk down the region’s famous canyon, said it was easy to get lost. “There's a lot of people that usually get lost here, there’s a lot of forest. We’ve already had a lot of news of tourists getting on trails they shouldn’t have and getting lost. I’ve seen a lot of helicopters flying around the rural park for years,” she told the Mirror.

She said it could be a dangerous place to walk if you were to stray off the official trails.

Jay 'would not walk 8 hours' says step-dad

Jay Slater’s stepfather says the missing teenager would not have walked for eight hours, as at home he would have to take him to get his hair cut.

Andy Watson, told MailOnline: “He has me run him down to the hairdressers, 200 yards away - why would he walk eight hours?

“Who lives in the mountains? It would be wrong to speculate, but everyone has their own impression in their head. I wouldn't have gone off with two people I didn't know. But he's 19, he's impressionable, isn't he? If someone said there's more drink at our house, he's going to go.”

Jay's nan is trying not to 'fear the worst'

Jay Slater's grandmother said in a heartbreaking interview that she is "terrified" and "can't bear to think about what's happened to Jay."

June Duncan, 77, told LancsLive: "The longer it goes on the more worrying it is. I'm just getting through each day at a time. I watched all that on the news about [TV doctor] Michael Mosley and it's just so similar. It's hot out there in Tenerife."

She also admitted she has been trying not to 'fear the worst'. She said: "You've got to remain positive. I'm trying not to think about it too much but I can't help it. I just feel so powerless."
