Chances of getting into RSM - Please help![#permalink]03 Jun 2024, 04:15
Hello all!
I am a 29 year old female content strategist (brand marketing & communications) with around 6 years of experience in the domain.
I have done my Master’s in English & Communication Studies from India and I have a score of 575 is GMAT FE.
I want to apply for International MBA in Rotterdam School of Management.
Can someone tell me what my chances are with the R3 admissions coming up this August?
Shall I consider a GMAT retake?

Salona.reve Hope you are doing great. The average score at RSM is 640, which is about 595 on the FE. If you are from an overrepresented demographic, your score is less than the class average while it should be higher. How did you do on quant? Thats the main thing. If the GMAT would be the only reason RSM might not admit you and they otherwise love your profile, they will tell you that if you ask. You can even request a feedback from the admissions office at this point.
There is time should you want a GMAT retake. If not, I think it might still be worth a shot in R3 with great execution on the application. You can always improve your score if you don’t get through. RSM will be happy to see that improvement the next time you apply (should you have to). Feel free to share your profile details to get a proper read on your chances.
Best wishes

Chances of getting into RSM - Please help![#permalink]03 Jun 2024, 05:14
Hi Aanchal,
Thank you for replying!
I will fall under somewhat over-represented category, I believe.
My score breakdown is as follows:
Quant: 80
Verbal: 79
DI: 77
A little bit more about me:
I have done by bachelor's in English Literature and Master's in English & Communication Studies. I have worked in CSR under Wipro (Azim Premji Foundation) for almost a year at remote areas across India on Language education across government schools in India.
I have almost 6 years of work experience in Content Marketing and I have interned for the editorial department of Indian Express, worked for development of language curriculum for tribals in India, was part of a non-profit programme for education of under privileged students in Bengaluru and have been a part of multiple research paper presentations.
Alongside content marketing as my primary job, I have also worked with various production houses scripting for independent content.
One small error: R4 admissions ahead by August 13th. :/
Shall I think of a GMAT retake within 2 months?

Salona.reve What are your goals? The market forces are not very conducive to supporting marketing goals for Indian candidates in a new geography if you are considering that. It's better to target a data-oriented/analytical role after an MBA to appeal to recruiters. I would say you are treading on thin ice if you haven't already thought about your goals in depth but you are applying for foreign MBAs.
